Two new releases are in now!
First up is the new 10" from JUST WENT BLACK, delivering the long-awaited follow-up to "Tides".
Their new 10" "Embracing Emptiness" is six songs of passionate and melodic modern Hardcore the builds and expands on their previous releases.
A subdued layout and high end production values make "Embracing Emptiness" look good as well.
The limited colored vinyl is almost sold out (thanks to everyone who preordered the 10"), the last copies are available from XsentientX.
SHORT FUSE recorded new songs as well, but those fit onto a good old-fashioned 45rpm 7".
"Blight" is six new songs of hardcore punk for the working class. No gimmicks, no crews, no bullshit. Disillusioned, angry and pissed, SHORT FUSE are unafraid to voice their disappointment with their lives, their jobs and YOU. Not looking for approval, this is honest punk rock the way it was meant to be played, raw, abrasive and in your face.

It's about time for another ASSAULT update! The lack of updates belies a flurry of activity here at the label HQ. I'll try my best to bring you up to speed:
The EMPTY VISION "The Rise" LP has been out for a while now, gathering rave reviews all over the place. You can still get limited colored vinyl from XsentientX.
Out now as well is the final pressing of the ANOTHER BREATH - Not Now, Not Ever LP. Available on white vinyl with silkscreened covers, numbered out of 200, these won't last long. Make sure to catch Another Breath on their european tour to pick up a copy of the tour press.
The crown jewel however, is the new JUST WENT BLACK 10", which should be out late may. A continuation of the path begun with 'Tides', 'Embracing Emptiness' is six songs of pure emotion and passion, packed in haunting melodies and delivered with anger and despair. Their LP is still young, but SHORT FUSE aren't resting on their laurels. Having just completed their US tour, their return sees the release of the follow-up release to their debut 12". Yes, the "Fruitless Efforts" EP is out now and available from good distros everywhere (or directly from XsentientX)! Four new songs, made even more powerful by the quality recordings and the high production values of the 7". A slight depature from the LP, this still has all the ingredients necessary for an awesome punk record. Limited colored vinyl available from the band or XsentientX only.

A few of you might've been lucky enough to see DAY OF THE DEAD on their european summer tour with labelmates JUST WENT BLACK. Wether you saw them in a small venue with 20 kids or at the Fluff festival, both bands gave their best and there's talk about upcoming projects. I was forced to come up with a tour press for "A New Healing Process", the upcoming DAY OF THE DEAD LP, because the guy who was supposed to deliver the artwork disappeared with our money. If you saw the tour cover, you'll easily recognize my heartfelt "NORTH DESIGN CAN SUCK IT!" Stay clear and spread the word.
A new layout is in the works and covers will be printed as soon as I get all the files, so look for "A New Healing Process" soon!
ANOTHER BREATH have unleashed their first full-length "Mill City" through Rivalry Records. By all means, check it out. It's evrything that I expected and more. Painfully honest and passionate, a perfect combination of words and music, this one touched me.
I'm down to the last few copies of their debut 12".
THE LEGACY are preparing to hit the studio to lay down new tracks for a follow-up release to "We Gave It Everything" more news on that once they've decided on what to do with the new songs.

Assault records is back on the map with two new releases to finally make good on the promise of a hot summer:
First up is the eagerly awaited full-length record from JUST WENT BLACK. "Tides" is a more than worthy successor to their debut 7". Building on their very own distinctive sound, the band has matured considerably and evolved musically. Unafraid to stray from the beaten path, these 11 songs are sincere, passionate and deeply personal. "Tides" shows us a darker and heavier side of Just Went Black, layered with haunting melodies that will stay with you long after the record is finished. Also out now is the repress of THE LEGACY's "We Gave It Everything" CD. Originally released on DEAD & GONE, this record is just to good to remain out of print, so we decided to make it available again. If you haven't heard from THE LEGACY yet, you're missing out on one of europe's finest hardcore bands right now. One year on from the release of their debut, The Legacy have stepped it up. "We Gave It Everything" showcases the bands progression from melodic old school hardcore into something more passionate and intense. Retaining their melodic edge, the new record comes at you with more drama and anger, improved songwriting and lyrics. If you're into bands like MODERN LIFE IS WAR and LIFE LONG TRAGEDY, you owe it to yourself to give THE LEGACY a listen.

Up next is a new 7" record from BREATHE IN. Their LP on Bridge Nine was so amazing that we jumped at the chance to work with them. Like a mad pitbull, the five tracks on this record aim for your throat and don't let up. More punk than their previous releases and far removed from sterile hardcore products that dominate the scene, the new tracks are filled with an urgency and recklessness that leaves nothing to be desired.

The winter is over and things are stirring again here at ASSAULT HQ.
We're happy to welcome ANOTHER BREATH to the ASSAULT family. Their demo rocked so hard that we simply had to ask them to do a record with us. Hailing from Fulton, NY, ANOTHER BREATH play honest, sincere and intelligent hardcore with intelligent lyrics. Great riffs, powerful chorus parts and a keen sense of melody are the ingredients for their songs which are filled with raw energy and passion. Check out the MP3 for "17 Minutes" in the releases section.
Their 12 song debut 12", titled "Not Now, Not Ever" will be out on Assault in june, just in time for their european tour. The CD version (8 songs) should be available from RIVAL shortly.
Due to technical difficulties, the compilation CD has been delayed, but it's nearing completion as I type this. The good news is the fact that it'll come with a whole bunch of bonus tracks, because we were able to persuade JUST WENT BLACK and SURF NAZIS MUST DIE to add their demos. Clocking in at over 30 songs, the CD will be well worth the long wait.
Speaking of JUST WENT BLACK, fall will see the release of their highly anticipated full length on NEW AGE Records. We expect it to be spectacular and hope that it'll be noticed all over due to the involvement of NEW AGE Records.
We have a lot more in the works for 2004, but more on that later.

SURF NAZIS MUST DIE have joined the ASSAULT family. Their acclaimed debut e.p. "Anti-Everything" will be released on CD along with the M.O.T.U. - Never Stop Cutting Off Heads 7" and the JUST WENT BLACK - Balancing Reasons In An Unbalanced World 7". Look for the budget priced CD this fall.
The JUST WENT BLACK 7" has unfortunately been delayed, since we had to reject the test press. 100 numbered copies were made for the band to sell on tour. Go and see them live if you want to get one of those. The regular press will hopefully sound differently, which makes the tour press all the more limited. Look for the 7" to hit stores sometime in october.
The limited colored vinyl of the M.O.T.U. 7" is sold out, black vinyl is moving fast. Plans for a repress are still in the air since the band has called it quits recently, quoting tensions within the band for a reason. They've cancelled all their shows with the exception of an appearance at the "Anti-Establishment-Festival" in Stuttgart on october 2nd, which will be their final show and your last chance to see them wreck havoc live.
On a related note, THE DISASTER have disbanded as well. They've recorded five new songs before breaking up, which have been released on CD by the band. Those will be available through SENTIENT soon.

We’re proud to announce the release of the debut 7" from JUST WENT BLACK. Hailing from the north of germany, these guys quickly made a name for themselves with their energetic live performances and their very own blend of melodic, yet aggressive hardcore. "Balancing reasons in an unbalanced world" contains 5 songs full of passion and dedication. The release date for this piece of vinyl will be the start of their small tour in September. R.A.M.B.O. have confirmed plans for a second european tour once their new LP has been recorded for ASSAULT Records. We’re as excited about that as you are.
